Periodontology and Implantology

The department of Periodontology is engaged in the treatment of problems associated with gums and poor oral hygiene. Undergraduates and Postgraduates gain knowledge about various treatments and procedures like scaling, root planing, splinting, abscess drainage and various surgeries such as flap surgeries, micro surgeries, laser assisted surgeries, implant surgeries etc through a training program comprising of both theory and practical knowledge.

The Department is equipped with facilities like modern dental chairs, ultrasonic scalers, piezosurgery unit, laser unit, various types of implant kits. The department also has various GTR membranes and Bone grafts. Critical researches encompass immunology, periodontal plastic surgery, periodontal regeneration, periodontal medicine and dental implants.

My goal for students is not for them to learn quantitatively but qualitatively. The department comprises of persons with diverse training, teaching, patient care, research and service; serving the dental community through continuing education programs. I strive for them to be better doctors that impartially serve the best for their patients and achieve a balance between patient satisfaction and correct treatment.
