DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the branch of dentistry which deals with the diagnosis and surgical treatment of various diseases, injuries, defects and deformities of head and neck region. It also involves various procedures involving both functional and aesthetics region of hard and soft tissue of oral and maxillofacial region. Hence the branch covers the great deal of territory. In nutshell, Oral and maxillofacial surgery, a specialty that serves from dental chair to the operation theatre.

This department performs a wide variety of all different type of procedures not only restricted to oral cavity but also the entire maxillofacial region. These includes routine extractions, surgical removal of compromised teeth, third molar surgeries, pathologies, TMJ problems etc. as per indicated in a well-equipped operation theatre with latest updated instruments and infrastructure.

Each branch develops and improves as with passing years as does our department also. It also carries out all types of implant procedures, aesthetic improvement procedures, PRP treatment and many more.

The U.G. students carry out procedures with standard protocols that not only involves giving Local anesthesia by different techniques and intra-alveolar method of extraction but also assists minor surgical procedures carried out by P.G.s and staff. They are also supposed to present the seminars and also pre-clinical works. P.G. students carry out minor and major surgical procedures and along with that they are supposed to attend the peripheral rotation postings like E.N.T., Orthopaedics, General Medicine, General Surgery, Emergency, Oncology and Cleft Lip and Palate postings etc.

The department of oral and maxillofacial surgery provides complete range of primary and specialty care services which includes management of facial trauma, orthognathic surgery, facial reconstruction, temporomandibular disorders and so on. We as a team have been working together since 2005 towards the cause by promoting excellence in patient care, education, research, community service to improve overall health of global population. Our team comprises of highly accomplished, experienced, well trained specialists coupled with most advanced equipments that medical and dental technology offers.
