Oral Pathology and Microbiology

Study , diagnosis and treatment of diseases in oral cavity related to teeth, soft tissues and bones and other paraoral structures. Our department focus on teaching students about various tooth morphologies by taking lectures and teaching tooth carving through practicals. Students are taught normal histology by showing slides and didectic lectures about histological aspect of various tooth structure. Oral pathology deals with identification and various cause of diseases.  It also investigate cause , processes and effects of these diseases. Practice of oral pathology includes research,  diagnosis of the diseases using clinical,  radiographic, microscopic, biochemical or other examinations and thus management of patients.

Our department is constantly focus on research, in identifying the disease,its cause, as well as its progress and prognosis. Thus it helps in treatment planning and patient management.  It also conduct short studies in areas of hematology, oncology, microbiology and forensic odontology. It adopts basic as well as advanced diagnostic aids like multihead microscopy, flourescent techniques, and varoius other methodology.
